Play fair

• Respect other fans. Treat other users with respect, even when opinions clash

• Keep it football. Keep posts, comments and reactions focused on the game, not unrelated topics

• Be honest about performances. Be as critical as you like of performances, tactics, results and decisions. Focus on what happens on the pitch, not personal attacks.

• Rate honestly. Don’t game the system

• Think before you post. Don’t share personal or sensitive information about yourself or others, including in your username or your Fan Story

• Report anything that breaks the rules. Hit the Report button in the app and we’ll look into it

Not allowed

We will remove content and may suspend or ban accounts for the following:

Abuse, harassment and discrimination

• Repeated belittling, mocking or talking down to other users. A pattern can cross the line even when no single comment counts as abuse or harassment on its own. We look at the pattern, not an isolated comment

• Abusing, harassing or bullying another user. This includes sexual harassment, such as unwanted sexual comments, advances or requests

• Degrading abuse of anyone. This includes players, managers, owners and other public figures. Examples include insults about someone’s appearance, comparing them to animals, insults aimed at their family, or sexual comments about them

• Hate speech or discrimination based on a protected characteristic (e.g. race, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation)

• Threats of violence, or encouragement or promotion of violence or self-harm

Harmful content and personal information

• Sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or other content that is illegal or highly likely to disturb or offend a general audience. Sexual content involving, or appearing to involve, anyone under 18 will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities

• Trying to get round our filters. Don’t disguise, alter or deliberately misspell explicit or offensive language. This includes using emojis, symbols, numbers or other characters to disguise prohibited words or phrases

• Sharing personal or sensitive information about yourself or others, even with consent. This includes doxxing, home addresses, contact details and financial information

• Don’t upload intimate, sexually explicit or sexualised images, even with consent. Sharing or threatening to share someone’s intimate images without their consent is also prohibited

• Stating or implying unproven claims about a real person’s conduct. For example, claiming they have committed a crime, use drugs, have an addiction, or were drunk. You can criticise performances, how a club is run and refereeing decisions

Accounts, ratings and promotion

• Fake engagement or rating manipulation

• Using Fanalysis for purposes unrelated to football, or posting content that doesn’t contribute to genuine discussion, such as repetitive, low-effort, or filler posts

• Impersonating another person, business, or organisation, including through fake or misleading profiles, or an avatar that is not a genuine photo of the account holder

• Ads, promotions, or spam. This includes:

  • Posts mainly advertising an account or channel elsewhere with no genuine football content

  • Promotion of platforms that don't moderate explicit content

  • Using bots or automated tools to post, rate, or interact with content

Gambling, illegal streams, drugs and politics

• Betting or gambling content. Don't promote, encourage, or help people gamble, share betting tips or odds, post links to betting sites, or try to arrange or promote gambling-related activities

• Asking for, sharing, or promoting illegal streams of matches

• Buying, selling, supplying or promoting illegal drugs. Content that encourages or glamorises drug use is also not allowed

• Political content that isn’t directly about football

Age requirements and concerns about other users

• Creating accounts for under-16s, or helping an under-16 access or keep access to the app. Fanalysis is a 16+ platform and we carry out age checks. If we reasonably believe an account belongs to someone under 16, we may ask the account holder to verify their age or will suspend the account.

• Speculating about, calling out, or accusing another user, including about their age or whether they are under 16. If you’re concerned about a user or account, please use our Report button

• Don't use the Report feature irresponsibly. Repeatedly or deliberately making false reports against accounts or content that do not breach our Code of Conduct may result in action against your account

Links

Posts that contain a link (URL) are removed automatically. This applies to every link, including football ones such as match reports

Usernames and personal information

Choose a username that protects your privacy. Do not include personal or sensitive information in your username, such as your date of birth, mobile number, home address or other details that could identify you.

Your username is visible to other users, so think carefully about what you share. We may ask you to change a username that contains personal information to help keep you and our community safe

Photos, videos, and avatars

• Keep uploads football-related

• Get permission from anyone featured. Do not upload intimate or sexual images of anyone without their consent, and do not upload manipulated or AI-generated images (including deepfakes) that depict a real person in a way they haven't consented to

• Don't upload sexualised images. This includes lingerie, sexualised underwear or revealing swimwear. Some of our users are under 18, so these are removed automatically. Football kit and sportswear are fine

• Get parental or guardian consent before posting photos of children.

• Don't upload copyrighted content. This includes match footage or restricted stadium content

• Use a genuine photo of yourself for your avatar. It must be a photo of you, the person the account belongs to. It must not include any other person (including friends, family, public figures, or stock/celebrity photos), even with their consent. Avatars must not include hateful, sexual or violent imagery, and must follow the same rules as every other upload

Enforcement

We’ll remove content that breaks these rules. Depending on the breach, we may also issue a warning, suspend an account or apply a permanent ban. Account-related breaches can lead to these actions even when there’s no content to remove. Serious breaches may be reported to the relevant authorities

If your account is suspended or your content is removed, you can appeal through the app or by contacting us. We aim to respond to appeals within 5 working days

Content that may be illegal will be reported to the relevant authorities. This includes child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, content encouraging self-harm or suicide, threats of violence, and non-consensual intimate imagery
